Commissioned for a private client in Massachusetts, this hand milled screen is furnished in mahogany and teak. Two panels painted in painstaking egg tempera depict the bodhisattva Guan Yin in a rare moment to herself, gifting a lotus to the river. The egret in the left panel honors the moment while with the lotus flower symbolizes the hope for a positive future & success. The dragonfly symbolizes prosperity & good fortune. The imagery and positioning of each element of the painting was carefully researched and chosen in collaboration with the client’s wishes.
